About Susan Taylor

Susan grew up in Porthcawl in South Wales and discovered a interest in art - photography in particular -  and loved messing about with her Pentax camera whenever she could. After completing an Art foundation course at the Polytechnic of Wales in Treforest (now the University of South Wales), she moved to Brighton in 1991 to study, obtaining a degree in Graphic Design. She went on to work at advertising companies in Shoreham-by-Sea, Brighton and London creating logos, adverts, magazines, billboards and marketing material for Virgin and British Airways.

Susan moved to Bristol in 2011 and spent another few years working in advertising, creating designs for Mattel, Wella and Jaguar Land Rover. She then left the corporate world and set up her giftware company creating typographic and illustrative designs. Her focus honed in on illustrating towns and cities around the world, that she now sells wholesale, online, and in person at markets.

Susan moved back to Porthcawl this year and is enjoying being by the sea again and
discovering what inspiration the town can bring her once more.
